Family and Friends CPR is a hands-on CPR course that will give you the skills to deal with emergencies at home. This course focuses on teaching you the vital skills of CPR and choking. Who should attend this course? This course is ideal for parents, grandparents, and those taking care of children such as au pairs and domestic workers.
This course covers CPR and choking relief for infants, children and adults Accreditation “Family and Friends CPR” is an international American Heart Association course run under the auspices of Emergency Care Education.
Duration: 3 hours
Family first aid is a practical, hands-on first aid course that will give you the skills to deal with emergencies at home. This course focuses on the most common injuries and first aid for life threatening situations. It will teach you the vital skills of CPR and also covers child safety, medical and environmental emergencies, choking, care of injuries and first aid skills. Who should attend this course? This course is ideal for parents, grandparents, and those taking care of children such as au pairs and domestic workers.
This course covers CPR and choking relief for infants, children and adults Wounds and bandaging Fractures, sprains and splinting Burns Head injuries, seizures and shock Poisoning, bites, stings and allergies Accreditation “Family and Friends CPR” and “First Aid for Children” are international American Heart Association courses run under the auspices of Emergency Care Education.
Duration: 3 ½ hours (This course is usually run on Saturday mornings from 9.00 – 12.30)
• First Aid Basics: Washing hands, exposure to blood, taking off gloves
• Medical Emergencies: Heart attack, fainting,diabetes, shock, Stroke, Seizures
• Injury Emergencies: Bleeding you can and can't see, Head injuries, Wounds, Broken Bones and Sprains, Splinting
• Environmental Emergencies: Bites and Stings, Heat and Cold related, Poisoning
• CPR, Choking and AED training: Infants,Children and Adults
Duration: 6-8 hours (After successfully completing this course, all students will receive an American Heart Association course completion card which is valid for 2 years)
Basic principles of first aid: One rescuer CPR and AED use, Chocking, Emergency numbers and phoning for help, Shock, Unconsciousness and fainting, Fractures, Burns, Head and spinal injuries, Wounds and bleeding This is a Dept of Labour accredited course, and therefore is required to run over 2 days, 8 hours a day. It is also required that the student writes a test before qualifying for a certificate
